Confessions
While this is not a Catholic Church, and we are not sitting in a booth, we still understand and recognize the importance of confessing our sins. Confession is not simply the act of telling someone what you did wrong. It is a chance to share your struggles with fellow believers and receive prayer and encouragement. Most importantly, its the act of submitting to God and humbling yourself before Him. Do you have a confession to make or a story to share? Post it here!
Selfishness is my nemesis. It follows me everywhere I go and hurts everyone I get close to, especially my wife and kids. It manifests itself in all sorts of ugly ways from ignoring people that irritate me, to sighing and rolling my eyes when in a slow moving line, to unexpected guests knocking at my door. I want to kill it and have the love, patience and humility of Jesus Christ. Help me Lord Jesus!
Drug use and anger were my chosen companions for many years, but as the Spirit was guiding my wife and I, even when we were lost, she was given the strength to stand up to me and demand a choice; family or stand alone with your drugs and anger. I chose, wisely and once my mind was cleansed and my heart purified, I heard Him ask me will you deny me again? Again, now with a cleansed mind, and a heart yearning for the grace of God, I opened my heart to receive Him. Now I am looking forward to meeting the LifeHouse congregation the weekend of 7/16. "I do believe Lord, help my unbelief."
